Welcome to the Shadows…

Hoi chummer and thanks for visiting SR4E. As you might have guessed, this site offers some information on how my gaming group has modified D&D 4th Edition to work with the Shadowrun setting. You might be asking why we’ve decided to do this – the answer is fairly simple: familiarity. We’ve been playing D&D 4th Edition for a few months now, and it has proved to be the most compatible system for our particular group of players.

In addition, the role of Game Master is being taken over by a former player, and I’m taking a turn at being a player. Needless to say, the new GM doesn’t feel like trying to teach the group a new set of rules, so we decided to transfer the 4E rules system to the streets of the Seattle Metroplex.

I don’t expect everyone to take kindly to the idea – afterall gamers tend to be a stubbornly loyal bunch, and most are pretty resistant to change. That’s fine. If you don’t like the idea of Shadowrun 4E style, buzz off. Otherwise, you might find the contents of this site interesting.

We haven’t made an attempt at being super-original. Most of the classes are firmly based off of one of the classes in the players handbook. The mechanics transfer just had to be done to give the game that “shadowy” feel while remaining strongly tied to 4E rules systems and staying somewhat balanced (as much as possible). What we’ve come up with seems pretty interesting. Please take a look around, leave some comments, offer suggestions, and maybe even contribute some material.
